Rooftop Parking – Composition 2 / Beauty in Ugliness

Posted on 3 December 2019 by BPvST

Have your “Zen moment” when searching for the right subject and composition. Get wondered about the beauty in ugly subjects.

Balancing the light color temperature

Posted on 27 November 2019 by BPvST

Balancing the light color temperature of the different light sources makes the difference. Location: the same as my previous post but now inside the building (Garage in Aachen center)

Golden lines and cloudy sky

Posted on 22 August 2019 by BPvST

Post processing to enhance the yellow (golden) lines, the green from the windows and the blue parts of the sky. The scene is chaotic but due to the yellow lines it gives a calm composition.

Challenge: Beauty in ugliness

Posted on 15 August 2019 by BPvST

Search for an UGLY item and try to catch it into a composition. Make the challenge more difficult and take only 1 lens with you. (e.g. the nifty-fifty lens = 50mm f1.8)

Three times three exhaust vents

Posted on 13 August 2019 by BPvST

Tip: Take your time to study the subject. Then capture the subject at different angles. By adding contrast, this mainly grey subject got some more saturated colors in the shiny parts and also the structures in the stone wall became stronger.

Posted on 11 August 2019 by BPvST

Look for odd objects and put these into compositions instead of making pictures of beauty
