Citadel Diest – I was at the entrance gate

Posted on 19 February 2018 by BPvST

Most parts of the Citadel cannot be visited but the gate is always open so I made these pictures of the impressive brick walls, the gate and the entrance lane.

Walking trail: Behind the Citadel (Diest, Belgium)

Posted on 18 February 2018 by BPvST

History: The citadel is the only remaining brick stone citadel in Flanders. Here are some pictures from the fortification walls of the citadel. Visible from a walking trail at the rear side of the citadel.

Being weird will get attention

Posted on 12 February 2018 by BPvST

Picture is taken at a 2nd year orchard in Halmaal Belgium. This tree was popping out so for me a reason to make a picture of it. The same as with life. “The best will not attract attention, being weird will get all the attention.”

No argue, this is a sharp picture

Posted on 8 February 2018 by BPvST

Picture is made with my fantastic plastic Canon 50mm 1.8 lens (yes the old mk-I) at f2.8. The perfect lens to make even an odd subject looks interesting. The background bokeh is beautifully blurred. Yep, everyone should have a 50mm f1.8.
